Our client is a leading North American wood product manufacturer.

Needs

Our client’s main request was to establish a collaborative relationship with automation experts to support them in the completion of their automation-related projects and the implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions.

Solutions

We began by advising the client on the technological solutions available to support the integration of their IT needs into the production layer.
We then took part in a number of working sessions, during which we presented the strengths and weaknesses of each of the potential solutions. Of course, we also made our own recommendations to help our client come to an informed decision. Our mandate also included a review of certain TopServer and Wonderware System Platform implementation methods.
Next, the client’s OT and IT teams were trained on best practices for optimizing communication. We also had the opportunity to contribute to the programming of a new interface linked to a humidity controller for wood pieces at the factory entrance. This tool features a communication gateway with the existing ERP (Dynamics 365) as well as a link to the centralized Microsoft SQL database.
Finally, we migrated the Wonderware System Platform version. All these steps were executed over a 12-month period.
